The Violation of Protocol I in Expropriation of a Land by Turkish Treasury

Three basic rights were added to the ECHR by Protocol I. The Protocol I was signed on 20 March 1952 in Paris, and entered into force on 18 May 1954. Turkey ratified Protocol I on 10 March 1954 by the Act numbered 6366 since date, the Protocol has been in force in Turkey. The following new rights were added to the ECHR:

Here today, I will focus on one of the judgements of ECHR relating to the violation of right of property that is regulated by Protocol I. First, I would like to explain the basic provisions of the Protocol I regarding this issue.

According to the Article 1 of the Protocol every natural or legal person is entitled to the peaceful enjoyment of his possessions. No one shall be deprived of his possessions except in the public interest and subject to the conditions provided for by law and by the general principles of international law.
